Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. Jacqueline's father Elroy is Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline is the youngest of two siblings and has an older brother. In the 1980s, her parents fled to Bahrain due to civil unrest on Sri Lanka. As a result, she was born and raised there. After completing school in Bahrain she received an Scholarship at University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. To enhance her love of the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz language schools where she was able to master Spanish as well as improve French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March of 2006, and later was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. Following her win of the Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of television. She hosted a program that was a business show in Sri Lanka named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen as well as Bangalore. As a teenager Padukone competed in a variety of national badminton tournaments. But she gave up her passion for the game when she decided to pursue a career as a professional model. Padukone is from Mangalorean origin Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi in Karnataka State, India is where her ancestry comes from. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton champion who has retiring. Her mother is a travel agent.
